I had my son in 2014 and I wasn’t in good shape before that, but I gained a lot of weight with my pregnancy. I finally made it up in my mind that I was sick of only wearing leggings or jeans that didn’t fit and very loose fitting shirts to hide my “mommy tummy” and that if I was going to buy new clothes they would be smaller ones.


I was friends with Christy on Facebook and had seen her fitness posts and read her blog. It was so real and was like reading my inner monologue. “This woman knows me and my struggles and this is where I need to start.” I reached out to try to get some guidance because I really didn’t know where to start and she had the results I wanted and started where I was going to be starting. I had been “eating healthy” and going to the gym a few times a week since the beginning of January (it was now almost March) but hadn’t seen any results from my “hard work.” I knew this would have to be more than a diet.

This was a lifestyle change. Christy gave me the encouragement and inspiration I needed to get serious. I found a clean eating plan that was structured perfectly for me (turned out I wasn’t eating enough of the right things most days and too many “treats” to “reward myself for my hard work”) and started exercising 6 days a week. I realized quickly the importance of meal prep and it was incredible what the meal prep, the right amounts of healthy food and exercise did for my mental health and stress as much as my physical health.

I actually noticed the stress reduction immediately. It was also amazing to me how quickly this was working! I’d never had results like this before! And THAT was a bigger motivator! The community of fitness people that I found following Christy’s Facebook group and blog helped me so much!! These were real people, who love food and live in the real world just like I did and they were doing it!  If they could do it, I could too!! From 3/4/18-7/27/18 I have lost 22 lbs (I’m only 4’10” so on my tiny frame that’s a lot!), lost 6” in my waist, 5.5” in my hips and went from a size 10 to a size 4!

My blood pressure is amazing, my red blood cell count is even high for a woman! Who knew that was a thing!? Lol. Not only has this new lifestyle helped me, but has trickled down and helped my husband lose weight and get back into the gym and our son is learning that eating healthy and exercise is a normal part of life and he won’t have to re-train himself as an adult. I couldn’t have gotten this far without the encouragement, accountability and support this community has given me. I’m still working hard to build muscle and get toned and I’ll never look back!!
